Description: The Oregon Employment Department provides job placement assistance to all Oregon jobseekers and recruiting services for business as well as priority services for veterans, labor market information, and information about and promotion of quality child care. It also provides unemployment insurance assistance to those who qualify.

Description: WorkSource helps employers find workers, and job seekers find employment. The office also provides labor-market information to employers, organizations and other interested parties. The Job and Career Center provides job-search assistance, resume and cover-letter writing assistance to all job seekers. Job listing on computer terminals for all jobs placed with Employment Offices in Oregon and nationwide. Center also provides job-finding workshops.

Clients: Lane County disabled/disadvantaged, 16 years and older.
Description: Goodwill Industries of Lane and South Coast counties provides comprehensive vocational services to disabled/disadvantaged individuals. Goodwill Industries offers vocational evaluation, work training, vocational counseling, skills training, job preparation, supported employment, placement and follow-along support services to disabled/disadvantaged individuals. Provides training for service, industry and retail sales occupations. Referrals taken from Lane County Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS), Oregon Vocational Rehabilitation Services (OVRS), Self Sufficiency Program (SSP), Commission for the Blind, Lane County School Districts, Veterans Administration or private rehablilitation agencies. Alternatives to Employment Program meets the needs of individuals with disabilities who are no longer able to work.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office supports a job program for offenders under the supervision of Parole and Probation Services. The jobs program, known as the Day Reporting Center has been in operation since 2002. The center provides offenders with daily job leads as well as offering assistance in establishing email accounts, completing job applications, resumes, interviewing skills or referrals to other agencies. In 2009, the Day Reporting Center assisted 1,480 offenders with their job search needs. In addition to offering job search services, the Center also serves as a step in our sanction continuum by offering increased structure through daily offender reporting.
